Which version of Sage are you using?
Works for me in both PARI (version 2.4.3 development svn-12623 as shipped
with Sage, i.e. `./sage -gp`) and from within Sage, version 4.7 (cf.
[http://sagenb.org/home/pub/2918 this SAGENB worksheet]) as well as
version 4.7.1.alpha2. (Haven't yet tried with 4.7.1.rc0 though.)
