 Yes, the patch should be applied.  However, you may still have to build
 Sage again.  Do the following (this is also in the devel instructions).

  * Quit Sage.
  * Instead of calling Sage however you usually do (e.g.,
 {{{
 /path/to/sage
 }}}
    do
 {{{
 /path/to/sage -br
 }}}
  * Now open the notebook from within Sage again (e.g, with
 {{{
 sage: notebook()
 }}}
    and see what happens.  I give no guarantees!  But at least it's worth
 trying.
