 Why?  Because upstream died and nobody is going to fix the code?

 IMHO it's better to not suppress such warnings, even though they might
 confuse or annoy users.  (It's ok to suppress some other warnings, e.g.
 for Cython-generated files when you're 100% sure that GCC is just not
 smart enough to deduce that they're non-issues.  But in most cases, one
 should avoid the warnings by changing the code.)
