I tried building libjpeg_turbo-1.1.1.spkg on OS X 10.7 (Lion) with XCode
4.2.x and it fails during the ./configure stage:

checking whether the assembler (nasm -fmacho -DMACHO) works... yes
checking whether the linker accepts assembler output... no
configure: error: configuration problem: maybe object file format
mismatch.
Failed to configure libjpeg ... exiting
real 0m14.878s
