 Ok, I've now successfully built Sage 4.8.'''alpha6''' on `sage.math` (with
 GCC 4.2.4); `sage -c True` works (doesn't segfault)

  * with the vanilla installation
  * with my new readline-6.2.p4
  * with my p4 and #12263 applied (i.e., `TERM` unset).

 Jeroen, can you check / confirm that it also works with your 4.8.rc1?
