 The other computer on which I don't have compilation error is with gcc
 (GCC) 4.6.1 20110908 (Red Hat 4.6.1-9).

 Unfortunately, we cannot rely on gcc version to solve the problem.

 Nathann, may be you can add a test around the definition of type subset_t
 to avoid redefinition, something like (not sure of the syntax but I know
 it can be done)
