 Upgrading is certainly something which should be tested.  The current
 policy in Sage is that source upgrades from sage-4.5 (released July 2010)
 or later should work.  This isn't a very official policy and can be
 changed to a later Sage version if needed.  But certainly upgrading from
 the pretty recent sage-4.7.2 should work.

 Backwards-compatibility is even more important for the saved worksheets in
 `DOT_SAGE`.  The older worksheets you can support, the better.
