Thanks John, I already noticed this myself. I see two solutions:
1. rebuild mpir, mpfr, mpc after GCC without building anything else.
2. don't delete the old libraries in the mpir, mpfr, mpc (at least if gcc
is installed).
I'm more inclined to go for option 2. I never quite understood why we
have to delete old libraries anyway.
