There is one aspect that I am very much disappointed about: The time for
building this spkg. My laptop is now running for about 5 hours, but gcc is
still not built, hence, the compilation of Sage itself didn't even start!
That is not acceptable.
So, this can really only be the last resort, say, if OS X really can not
provide adequate compilers.
