Comment:
Rebased [attachment:12369_gcc_root.patch] to apply on top of #12631.
Since this is a simple rebase, I don't think it needs a new review (this
change is not yet in the testing release). The GCC spkg has not changed
since the last positive_review.
I have tested the testing release on the buildbot and there are no
problems. I have not yet properly tested upgrading, but will do that
soon.
