 Regarding point 2, try instead to use `chsh` to switch your shell to
 `/bin/zsh`, open up a new terminal window (now running zsh) and try
 {{{
 $ sage -sh
 $ echo $PATH
 }}}
 again. When I do this, I get things like /usr/bin at the front of the
 path.
