Keeping it is "mostly harmless". I just noticed when I created the ebuild
for sage-on-gentoo that even so I hadn't added it to the CPPFLAGS it was
used in the compilation. Adding it to the CPPFLAGS made it appear twice in
those places.
I would have to test with the whole set of new packages and patches to be
absolutely certain of course. That could take a few days. And of course
that would be on a non-exotic platform first. Make me think I need to put
a 5.1beta on power7 to cover my exotic corner.
