 This is discussed a fair amount above.  I still disagree with the
 decision, but I understand Jonathan's reluctance to allow it. I'm sure
 he'd be happy to explain the syncing issues he's worried about again :)

 There is an open ticket about keywords to plot3d not being passed to show
 in general, and is unrelated to this afaik.
