I see now! This makes it much better. If we put R.<x,y> = ZZ[] as the
first line in the Tutte polynomial code it does this for us. Doing that
shouldn't mess anything up, right?

probably be caching a canonical label of the graph -- see the
{{{cache_key}}} method in my patch.
