OK: Both the patches at #715 and here are updated. The `__contains__`
methods should now be more efficient, and the `__delitem__` method will
remove the item not only from the buckets but also from the _refcache.
Needs review! And I hope the patchbot doesn't time out when finding the
dependencies...
