It sounds like it's not the _curnit_ that's phoning home, but rather  
Molecular Workbench trying to reload its model, which is a remote  
resource. Model files aren't being cached at all right now, if I  
remember correctly. I'm not sure what it would take to be able to  
cache them. I think the same problem extends to other model types,  
like NetLogo, as well.
