Most of you confer upon yourselves

A title after getting to know Me.

"A devotee" is proudly how you

Introduce yourself to others.

Once this word is known to you,

You walk around with it,

Flashing it and displaying it,

As if it was proof of your virtues of character.

Merely a word attached to you

Does not touch Me,

Does not call Me.

All your actions must scream the word "devotee,"

For when you are truly devoted to Me,

All the paths become clear.

There is no confusion.

You serve Me in all others around,

And I then become indebted to your love.

Touch Me with your love.

Call Me always with your eyes and lips.

Impress Me with your actions.

I know how systematic you all are in eating and drinking. You make pretty
good care of the body. I do not condemn it. I only want that you should
take equally good care of the needs of the spirit. Take a dose of Dhyanam
(Meditation) and Japam (Repetitiion of Lord's Name) as the morning
breakfast, Puja and Archana (Ritual Worship) as lunch at noon, Sathsanga
(Good Company) as afternoon tea and snacks, an hour of Devotional singing as
dinner and a small ten minute Manana (contemplation) as the cup of milk
before going to bed. That dietary discipline is enough to keep your inner
being healthy and happy.
