Hi Kevin Didnt see this mail of yours or would have combined my reply with my earlier one. 12 days eh? well I was there 14 days but I met a lot of people, ..Banu, Giselle & others..... Trust you to meet the puppy - after all ... a Vet! I usually meet Rico's dad every year as he is always pottering around at his place, but meeting Rico is another matter...either he is asleep whilst everybodyelse is awake or he is travelling... however I've been lucky in 2008 & 2009 as met him both times. Hey I didnt mention forgiveness nor divine nor divinity - only mentioned err & human. So typographical error was human eh? I bet most noted it. Anyway I wont quibble - as for your stirring the pot, yeh I'm with you on this one, I stir too - resulting in a couple of postings on this Net. Was wondering! what took you so long then? hey hey! Cant make any comment, havent visited the site yet - but I am sure I will be with you on this too. Ta ra Annette

Nasciment. Did meet Rico's dad at home though, and his new puppy!!!As for 'forgiveness being divine....' .. I'll leave that up to the gods ;-) From my human end, I know a typo when I see one but sometimes will use it to stir the pot!Great job on the site. It is a fitting tribute to Fr. Nascimentos beautiful and descriptive writings and Mel's illustrations add a visual flair.Kevin 2009/2/1 ANNETTE D'SOUZA <[email protected]> Hi there! SaligaoNetters, Havent had time to check out the website but will do so once I've finished all the backlog of work since I took my vacation. Met a few Saliganvkars when I was in Saligao including Rico, & Fr. Nascimento who was kind enough to visit when he was visiting folks in Saligao. He looked well & was his usual self, so I was happy to meet him. December 2008 or 2009??? Val made the correction anyway. Kevin.... hmm! Noticed the "Kudos" to Val from your end alongwith the humour thereby enlivening the Net...not bad!, but otherwise did you hear of that one?...To err is human....! Perhaps Val or his proof-reader missed out on that one digit...... I'm sure the website will provide us with whatever material is available & that which will be of interest to those who are interested. Have a good day, all you SaligaoNetters around the world! Ta ra! The main author of the essays featured on Saligao Serenade is Fr Nascimento Mascarenhas, the well-known Goan priest and historian from the village, who has written much on the history of the Catholic Church in Goa. The essays have been selected from the vast number of postings by Fr. Nascimento on the Saligaonet mailing-list between 2001 and 2005, and some additional material that he has been working on subsequently. Selection and editing of the essays has been done by Val Souza, a seasoned Indian Information Technology journalist based in Mumbai, but with roots in Saligao. Also featured on the site are sketches by Mel D'Souza, an artist and author originally from Saligao and currently in Canada. Saligao Serenade was formally launched on 27 December 2009 by Fr Nascimento's brother Michael Mascarenhas and sister-in-law Lina, on the occasion of the couple's Golden Jubilee Wedding Anniversary celebrations in Mumbai. The website is organised into various categories, covering History, Culture, Customs & Beliefs, People, Religion, Village Matters and Nature. Saligao Serenade welcomes original article submissions on subjects connected with the village, in addition to comments on the existing posts. New essays will be added every week on the site, which is managed and maintained by Val Souza.
