The point is while there are quite a few (maybe half a dozen) journalists who live in Saligao, or trace their origins to Saligao (as in Daniel's case), there's hardly anyone who writes on Saligao issues.
I agree with Albert. We need to create a new generation that focuses on issues related to Saligao. For a range of livelihood issues, we existing journalists focus on other issues (this is where we earn a living). Saligao-Net is meant to be a substitute of sort, where all kinds of village issues can be highlighted. But it is not a sufficient option. We need to build talent and young people now, not just think about it when we realise *nobody* is focussing on *our* issues! I suspect Saligao could be better administered (by its panchayat, for instance) or environmental issues (concrete structures alongside fountain -- any idea what's happening to the case? -- or garbage on its hillock) could be sort out earlier, if there was more regular focus on it by way of writing in the local papers. For that, we need to create village reporters.
