I've always thought it was a good place to begin writing local history. I did a series of photos on Velim cemetery last year: http://www.flickr.com/photos/fn-goa/sets/72157624042843478/ Had the opportunity to visit Velim a few days back, and was fascinated by the "stories in stone" visible at the graveyard. In fact, every Goan village has such a story waiting to be told, of different languages, the changing times, Catholic migration, early deaths, prominent figures.
