*I was shocked to hear about the pollution upon our Saligao hill especially near our dear old Salmona spring . Our visit to our home in Saligao would never be complete without a visit to the fountain( Salmona spring) .We also used to carry the water back home in our little ‘ Gurgulette ‘ as my grandmother would call it as it was supposed to contain medicinal properties (Does this theory still hold good considering the garbage seepage into the underground water table ? ). I still remember my grandma the late Mrs Betty – would never go shopping without her Goa shopping bag in hand ( no plastic bags then ) *
