A book on the history and lore of Saligao, titled
'The Land of the Sal Tree' authored by Fr. Nascimento
Mascarenhas and lavishly illustrated by another son of
Saligao, Canada-based Mel Souza, is being released
today, 26 Apr 2012, at Saligao's Mae de Deus Church.
Today marks the 42nd anniversary of the priestly
ordination of the author. Publisher, Frederick Noronha
of Goa,1556 also hails from Saligao. A happy day for
all you Saligaocars!
