In bengali - Sonar Bhata is way to describe a good brother - 'a brick of
gold'
Gold=  Sona /Shona and Bhata= brick

During the Bahi dooj the Bengalis have a ceremony to pray for welfare of
brothers and praise them...
read in fr Nascimento' book  that people from Bengal were the early
immigrant outsiders to settle in Saligao ... may be a word from bengali
