Dear Saligaonetters,
A few friends (involved in a samll project to try and help calangute
treat its garbage in the market) took a walk to the garbage dump at the
top of the hill, what we saw shocked us and almost gagged us!!!!

how long is this madness going to continue is everys guess. the
calangute panch (who stays just across the border in calangute near the
police station) who I had the opportunity to talk too some days ago,
says there was a proposal to do a proper garbage management site a year
ago, but it was shot down as it was too expensive - 2 crores!!!!!!!
