Hi all, A group of birders from the Goa Bird Conservation Network will take a walk this Sunday through the Amona-Navelim wetlands as part of the Great Backyard Bird Count <http://www.birdsource.org/gbbc>. The area holds a rich variety of avian species – we expect to see large numbers of storks, ducks, egrets, ibises, sandpipers etc. We also hope to see the Red Avadavat that has been sighted recently in this area, a first record for Goa. If anybody would like to join us, do send me a mail or call on 9890141715. **** We meet at 7.00 am at the Heera Petrol Pump near the KTC Bus Stand in Panjim, or 7.30 am on the Amona side of the Amona-Khandola Bridge. Participants are expected to come in their own vehicle. Please bring along binoculars, cameras and field guides if you have them. Also, we will be wading through some areas of knee-deep water, so please dress accordingly.
