The material to build this illegal str was provided by Mr Sumeet Chopra , I am witness to vinod vaidya N wife taking material from Chopra site with chopras servants and engaging in the weekend building across these 14 months (some months it had stopped) This is bang in front of my house on the site you have helped identify as 106/6 belonging to Sumeet Chopra the builder from Mumbai for whom Mozaic Design -of Arch Dean D cruz have designed n executed these bunglows, (in salmona vado ) . Mr Chopra has intiated a Ilegal sturcture that was built from 3rd week Nov 2011.. I raised the matter to Police Station, Panchayat , (earlier & current headed by Eknath ) , to BDO, To PHC..To Saligao Citizens forum one Diago , some journalist n more ..to NO Avail Prior to this a JCb machine was called and the whole road area was dug up damaging n removing the ancient steps to the salmona springs , a team of 20 labor was working to build a road , they were again contracted by builder Mr Sumeet Chopra when i asked for work order etc they abandoned site . this is after massive tree cutting hill cutting low level area filling n more. This Sunday - 17 march 2013 . when I went up to see n found Mr Vinod Vaidya busy with carpenters in the illegal strc in the next few hours I see some of the plants I planted by my boundary wall uprooted broken.. Ive spoken to Eknath Orskar directly about this , n the threat to my life n he has responded that the safety n welfare of my family is none of his business and neither is the illegal str.Viva Mahatama Gandhi Jis Panchayati raj.!! to a letter written to panchayat asking a copy of inspection of the site done wrt my earlier alerts of illegal construction in the area - I got a reply "No records"!! The str is without a bathroom without a soakage pit . n of course it is illegal. (photo attached - person was too far to get clear pic) It must be noted here, that for the last 2 weeks, I have been facing a sudden spurt in garbage being disposed right outside my house from a few "neighbours" and "well-wishers" who inspite of repeated requests have continued to spoil the beauty of saligao with a blatant respect for the law. both the bags mentioned here have been thrown in front of signboards from the panchayat that say " Dumping garbage is strictly prohibited in this area. for violation of this, action will be taken" So far not only has garbage been dumped in front of my garage, but now I have also been getting threats from the villagers. I have been taking and am continuing to take photo's; and I am publishing this particular photograph as I am at the moment at my wits end on the issue that has been making me a target of attacks. these people seem to have been mis-informed of what I have done for the village and what I am continuously trying to do.
