While the saligao MLA and authorities have to be lauded for this initiative, they may be some concerns that may arise. 1) what is going to be done over the garbage and waste generated? how do we manage this? 2) to make way for proper parking facilities, some of the coconut trees along the pathway from st cajetans church through the fields to the chogm road have been cut. it is pertinent to note that this same pathway was marked as a "heritage path" in the village regional plan. and was proposed to be left untouched, with more trees to be planted. on the bright side, the new coconut trees that had been planted are still existing with only the old trees having been cut. I'm assuming that the old trees had lived their life, or the other reason could be that they were coming in the way of the temporary light tower that was installed to provide floodlight.

There are many artisans in Saligao, some of whom my wife uses to get her work done for accesories in her garments as a fashion designer (work in clay etc..). none of these artisans to my knowledge were approached for stalls for this event. I wonder what local talent is being promoted as the agenda does not mention the same. only those with money to afford the stalls?

Kind regards
Ashley
