Sanjeev you're quoting the Law. Don't you know that's irrelevant when dealing
with the Church?
I've just realised I have to pay the British Govt. for photographing Big Ben.

The usage of the Mae De Deus church image as a backdrop at the Goa Heritage
festival has, if anything, enhanced the reputation of the church and made it
iconic with reference to Goan heritage.

As a matter of courtesy one may expect that permission be sought, however , it
is not required by law as the following extract confirms.
"
According to the Indian Copyright Act of 1957, Section 52, as currently revised:
52. Certain acts not to be infringement of copyright—(1) The following acts
shall not constitute an infringement of copyright, namely:
...(s) the making or publishing of a painting, drawing, engraving or photograph
of a work of architecture or the display of a work of architecture;
(t) the making or publishing of a painting, drawing, engraving or photograph of
a sculpture, or other artistic work failing under sub-clause (iii) of clause
(c) of section 2 ["any other work of artistic craftsmanship"], if such work is
permanently situate in a public place or any premises to which the public has
access;
"
The even has been very successful, well organized and most importantly has
brought communities together, which should be applauded.

my point is we see every thing with comunal lenses. I believe that religion is

I felt that the APP impled the same by saying how can any one use the bacdrop
without permission etc. Clive is a good event manager ane catholic. so how can
we say it has a tinge of the wrong colour

it is purely an ecomomic activity where people will benefit.

when the chuech was painted or lit no permission was taken so why yhe fuss now
hope I could explain the point. I apologise for being confusing.

Dear Mr Costabar,

I though away from my beloved village have some sentiments for our

ancestral church and our faith - I dont seem to understand the last

line of your letter which says 'As usual Catholics are involved,

because the religion is "money". '

What exactly are you trying to imply that our catholics are involved

because of the money involved ?

Please explain as your entire letter was nice but the last line is a

little confusing and needs explanation

sorry mate
