Aunty Isa called me up too asking me why I was not coming and to put it
out on the net that this would be a great experience!!!!!
She was excited to learn that I was now a father - seems the village
grapewine has failed for once :-P
must say the committee has gone all out - I look forward to seeing
pictures up by those who attend.

at 9.30 pm on Friday (the Eid holiday in Goa too). She said the
turnout for the club show has been very good, and they're looking

I recall my daily 'pilgrimage' to the club in the late 1970s, to
read the Times of India (it came in a day late from Bombay) and
the Illustrated Weekly of India (virtually the only magazine
available, till India Today came on the scene). This played a key
role in my life as a senior schoolboy or young collegian. If not
mistaken, Saligaokars from Bombay and others had also donated a
large library, which was something we loved accessing, and waited
eagerly for each Saturday to get access to books from its shelves.
There were only very few options available then.
I also recall the drawing competitions, quizzes and debates we
then had, together with sports outside the club balcony. If
possible, the committee could approach parents and other
educationists to restart such initatives. We gained a lot from
these in our time! FN
