The CFL's are of Finolex cables make, marketed under the Finoglow brand.
they come with no warranty, but with careful / proper electricity, use
can last you at least 2 years.
unfortunately for us, out of the CFL's we bought last year, only 2 are
still working.
one very important thing we all must learn is to keep the CFL's,
Tubelights in an unbroken condition and deposit them for recycling at
the only collection point so far in Goa for these - The Panjim Sorting
center, in St Inez. (close to caculo mall)
one can also deposit all types of used, spent; battries there.
all have to be properly segregated and in unbroken condition only of course

CFLs, or compact fluorescent lamps, are considered to be energy

Apparently, anyone with a ration-card, can pick up upto 5 CFL bulbs,
at a subsidised price of Rs 50-something (a little over Rs 50), when
the actual price is nearly double that. What you need to do is to go
to the Department of Science and Technology at the Saligao plateau
WITH your ration card and purchase the same at a subsidised rate.
Disclaimer: I don't know about quality and other issues, but this is
based on the info DIogo Fernandes gave me. Talk to him for more
details on 988 167 1075. Good CFLs are lower on energy consumption and
last fairly long. But poor quality ones are a waste of mercury (I think)!
