Goodmorning,
Since I dont have any idea about such things & have no technical knowledge, thought I'd just bat to you all something I read about recently regarding Garbage Treatment Plant - Reference was made to: "Swiss Compogas" - does that ring a bell? Seems to have worked well...from what I read.... Of course the "proof of the pudding is in the eating"...... as also "one man's meat is another man's poison" Have a nice day! The petition below is for the Maharashtra CM. I have noted in the past that this email signature campaing has proved very effective and puts pressure on the concerned party or person. Regarding the GTP on Saligao hill, will it be possible to put up the petition through Change.org. or do something similar? This will enable many Saligaokars and their friends (including those abroad or outside Goa) to sign this petition. The above is my humble suggestion. We also wish to express our appreciation to the few of you who are actually doing all the ground work at Saligao. Maybe ward wise volunteers can be recuited to give support and to create more awareness in the neighbourhood. Apart from expenses for a court case (if it comes to that stage), there will still be expenses being incurred at present by some of you (photocopying documents, attending or organizing meetings, petrol/ transport charges, etc). Do let us know if we can contribute some funds for this cause. Best regards, Lloyd ----- Original Message ----- From: Dr. Asha Andyal To: [email protected] Sent: Friday, November 08, 2013 9:51 AM Subject: Campa Cola: Illegal After 30 Years 101 Campa Cola families will lose their houses for no fault of theirs. Tell the CM of Maharashtra to intervene and stop this tragedy. Sign Our Petition Dear Lloyd - I fought for freedom against the British in 1942. Now, I am fighting to save my home from the Bombay Municipal Corporation. I am 90 years old and a resident of the Campa Cola compound, Mumbai. In just 4 days, the BMC is planning to demolish my home. They say that our houses weren’t a part of the original plan. The builders who sold the houses hid this from us. This is shocking because the builders and BMC will go unpunished but our legally purchased homes are about to be demolished. The only person who can stop this is the Chief Minister (CM) of Maharashtra, Prithviraj Chavan. We started this petition asking the CM, to pass an ordinance that will regularise the buildings. This is urgent. If thousands of people like you sign this petition, the CM will know that the whole city is demanding he stand by the citizens and pass the ordinance. Lloyd, as a senior citizen and a freedom fighter, I request you to help save our homes. Sign our petition and forward it to your friends.
