*Saligao Garbage Struggle* Dear Saligaokaram, As Saligao struggles to shift the proposed Garbage Treatment Plant (GTP) on their Salmona Hiill, to a safer location, just 700 mts. away, this exhibition has not come a day too soon!
The Saligao Garbage Struggle (SGS) will take their awareness campaign to this exhibition and other venues in Goa, first to demonstrate the destruction that criminal garbage dumping can cause. And second, to highlight the dangers of this GTP on the proposed site the government has chosen. The people of Goa have to know what this govt. and its technocrats think of Goa's environment, and the building of dangerous GTPs in eco-sensitive zones like hills and plateaus that house delicate spongy, laterite aquifers. We note with great interest that the exhibition is supported by the Saligao based, Department of Science, Technology & Environment, Government of Goa.
