Right you are, Aparna!
Congratulations Brig. Ian & Team! Quite a poor attendance ..... doesnt seem as if people appreciate the effort....the youngsters missed out on a good opportunity - their loss! Brings back memories of the Institute during our young days - a lot went on, we made the most of it, attendance was very good but we werent lucky enough to have good speakers in this field being brought in for our benefit. However, my appreciation for what the Committees did then and what the Committees are doing now still stands. All the best! The SI hall was already set up for 40 children. There was a power failure at that time, and power resumed at 5 pm, and so his talk commenced then. Only 15 children and five members from the Managing Committee attended. President Brig Ian da Costa welcomed the speaker and the attendees and asked everyone present to pay rapt attention to Basil, who is an expert in this field. The talk was brilliant and Basil involved all the children by asking them questions. His coloured slides made everyone appreciate the points he made. His talk lasted for fifty minutes. The President thanked Basil for his very illuminating talk and for coming from Panjim to deliver the same. The President expressed regret that few children had come. Those who missed the talk will regret it very much. This is inspite of wide publicity on Saligao-Net, posters, telephone calls and word of mouth publicity. Basil was given two thank you gifts by the Vice President Isa Vaz and Treasurer Cyril Coelho.
