I used to go for tiatrs with Alfred Rose's father in law Anton Ruzai Pais. That
was our usual group which was between 7 to 8 all squeezed in Mona's taxi. It
would be a delight to see Alfred Rose with his usual hat on his head and a
smile on his face sing the opening chorus with a style which was unique.His
voice was of high pitch with a A scale music. Then the next thing was to see
jacint vaz on the stage. Every one from our group laughed till lungs and
intestine came nearly out but our beloved Anton Ruzai Paes would never laugh
and was the only one who would be very serious.Talking about Anton Ruzai Pais.
( uncle Paes) He was a comedian Numerio one. In 1979 i staged my first tiatr at
Lourdes Convent sponsered by Saligao Institute. The cast was uncle Paes as
Padre Vigar, Luis de mello , Amy sequeira, Betty Alvares, Late Precilla
sequeira, Late Sarul Sequeira, and the great Francis Lobo,. The play was one of
the best I have ever staged. Uncle Paes put up a small act within the tiatr
where he becomes a temporary cook. People of saligao failed to recognise him
and asked me who that actor was.No jokes.Uncle Paes and Luis de mello were
prominent people at the saligao Institute.
