Huh! What's new? At least the server was only down for a few hours. & yeh for those of you depending on Internet etc. for jobs to be done, it is a real hassle. BSNL has problems - full stop. The BSNL mobile doesnt let us receive nor make calls from inside our house - one needs to stop talking once one reaches the gate. hence we need to use an IDEA one too, - so one for indoors & one for outdoors😁 Next time I enter Saligao, I will use Vodaphone....I think. Our home landline (BSNL) works & "unworks" often. Heard the same complaint from others too. This time, I couldnt call Mum over the landline for around two weeks - Mum has a problem with mobiles, she finds the keys of the landline easier on her wrist & arthiritic fingers. The good news is......the phone is finally working last 3 days after the complaints made which involved a few trips to wherever??? & Nicholas was kind enough to get involved I think - helping the octogenarian & Fiona of course. That I would call "community service" so kudos to him & people like him - there have been others who have given a helping hand in various matters. Of course we are still awaiting the clearing, uprooting, digging up or whatever......of the VOV before the "heavy" monsoons "rain" so as to avoid overflow, the outcome of which would be other peoples' "junk & dirt" entering our compound for the second time around, in this year. Over to you Eknath & your minions! I know there is a problem with obtaining the relevant workforce...... Meanwhile for the future, perhaps a "whisper" or a "warning" in the ears of the people who have no civic sense is required, (starting right from the base of the hills) so that such people collect & bag their rubbish instead of tossing it all into the VOV creating a "nuisance" scenario for others. If I was there, I would enlist the help of our Tourism Minister who happens to be our neighbour too! I mean this also would come under the subject title "Garbage" and all that IT entails ...... wouldnt it? & I do know & read also, that the Minister is very interested in the Garbage Plant etc. Our well is already polluted & cant be used,........WHAT IS NEXT?
