Sr Adelaide, a long-time principal of Lourdes Convent (who took over after Sr Veronica, I think, and ran the school for a long time before our current incumbent Sr Lily) has been rather unwell in the past few days.
Maria Viana (Effie), a school alumni who is now a nurse active in the village, mention this to me a day or two ago, and I also confirmed with one of the LCHS nuns. They request your prayers. Sr Adelaide was known for being firm as principal/headmistress, but she was one of those ladies who built the school into what it currently is, an institution doing well and thronged to by students from many neighbouring villages. She took over a little after our time (probably in the early or mid 1980s), but we know her as a kindly and good neighbour. By some coincidence, she did her teachers' training decades ago with my aunt and godmother, I think in Bombay.
