If *Romi Konkani* was introduce for students in the begining instead of Devanagri script, all the Catholic students would have opted for Konkani as MOI, as parents would have been able to teach them at home. Majority of the catholics do not know the Devanagri script as this script is alien to us. We all understand the Konkani Ligurgy which is used in all our Churches even before Konkani was made official language. It was the majority of catholics who fought for Konkani language but were betrayed by our leaders.
Now is it too late to introduce in Schools? Otherwise Konkani will become extinct in few years as no Catholics are pursuing this language. People who are learning at present are the people who knows Devanagri alphabets. P.
