Arup,  in response to your request for thoughts on the topic, here are some of
mine...It's great that Goa has made a start in this kind of innovation in
education.  However, I would imagine it does require a lot of (costly)
infrastructure, in addition to staff that have been exposed to teaching in
different kinds of environments, locally, nationally and ideally,
internationally, too.  From a practical standpoint, this concept may not be
viable at many other places in Goa...at least, not just yet.  This is not to
say that it won't be long before it spreads to other parts of the state. I
would think that for it to catch on and spread, it does require the support of
all genuinely interested communities... parents, teachers, local entrepreneurs
and anyone else who has the education of the Goan student community truly at
heart, and not those who will support the concept to see what they can get out
of it!  Regardless of where you may be in the world, you will always find those
who will jump on the bandwagon solely for their own benefit!

sure there are schools in Saligao that are doing the proper job of 'educating'
rather than making people 'literate'. Just wanted to know if they  are
embracing new methodologies like Self / goal oriented learning, etc. Something
that this school in Aldona has done -

Look forward to thoughts as I am also a parent of a 9 year old.
