Prostitution racket busted at Saligao; 3 held Posted by: nt <http://www.navhindtimes.in/author/nt/> September 28, 2017 in Goa News <http://www.navhindtimes.in/category/goanews/> PANAJI Crime Branch police have busted a prostitution racket that was allegedly run under the garb of a spa at Saligao. Police have arrested three persons in connection with the case while two persons are absconding. A victim girl, native of North Eastern state has been rescued and she has been lodged at the state run protective home at Merces, police said. The accused arrested have been identified as Johnny D’souza, Vinay Kumar and Vittal Lamani, they have been remanded to 6 days police custody. While the other two accused Avdesh and Ankur Rai are on the run. According to the police Johnny, Avdesh and Ankur are business partners and were operating a spa and a guest house in the same area while Kumar was employed at the spa and Lamani was reportedly bringing customers to the spa. Taken by suprise, the accused persons reportedly started arguing with the police and there was a brief scuffle, police said. In which two persons who were later identified to be among the accused persons, Ankur and Avdesh Rai fled from the scene, informed police. According to the police apart immoral trafficking act and other related offences, the accused have also been booked for alleged assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty. According to information while one girl was rescued another victim girl reportedly sneaked through the rear door. Based on a source information police had laid a trap and after sending a decoy customer raided the spa premise. The raid was conducted by the crime branch team headed by PI Satish Gawade.
