A bank employee is the servant of the custumer. They cannot shout at the customer but have to oblige them and that too politely. I had bitter experiences with bank of india Mapuca in the past. Whenever I went to withdraw money the cashier would give me the dem. he wanted. Once I was given ten rupees, fifty rupees and hundred rupees which I would had to sit and count. I refused to and asked back my token which he refused. He obliged me with dem. i wanted only when I told him that I would get the Mapuca police at the bank.
I do simple thing. Just sit at the laptop and write a letter to the head office and within two three hours of sending the letter a phone call comes to me from the branch apolig... for the bad behaviour of their staff. ________________________________ From: [email protected] <[email protected]> on behalf of joeliz <[email protected]> Sent: Saturday, December 2, 2017 7:11 AM To: [email protected] Subject: RE: [SALIGAONET] Fwd: BOI Saligao Refusing To Give Money Without Aadhaar Linking Or Signing Of Declaration,.. True Rico! All this, when the Saligao branch of Bank of India, is the richest rural branch in the country! We have to unitedly confront these feudal lords that throw their weight around. More later... They told me that, as per their rules, the cheque book facility given to him would be withdrawn, and we would have to use withdrawal slips for every transaction henceforth. Apart from being terribly inconvenient, this also made it only tougher for me to keep track of the withdrawals from this account, or make cheque payments to others when needed. This all happened at a time when I needed to undertake an urgent withdrawal for medicines and other incidental expenses. To top it all, I was a joint signatory for the bank account. I was so angry that I phoned the bank ombudsman (or some such designation) in Mumbai. The call came through back to Saligao, via Panjim. This issue was sorted out soon enough. On another occasion, a Government of India cheque was returned unpaid by the bank. This is rather strange. How could such a thing happen? Again, I had to call Mumbai, and the issue got sorted out. Frederick 9822122436 PS: Whenever the telephone exchange fails (which is often), the bank too is unable to transact any business. They just throw up their hands and say nothing is possible because 'connectivity is down'. I wish an important bank like this would take more care to ensure that they had a back-up connectivity to access the internet. One expects better, especially because the bank earns so much of its profits from our villagers. Wonder how much (if any) they put back by way of corporate social responsibility into the village itself. (I have also worked in the Bank of India, way back in the 1980s, at another branch, and I'd say it was a rather well managed and friendly branch.) She wanted the Aadhaar Card (AC) linked to the account. "We have not made ACs," said Suhail. Then sign this declaration stating, "I do not wish to submit my AC number, for linking it in your bank," she insisted. Suhail refused, saying that there was no Supreme Court ruling on it as yet. When I went to the bank, she told me the same thing, but this time, rudely and arrogantly. We came home, complained to a P P Joshi at the Zonal Office (2404404, also 2424627, 2404400). He admitted that the BOI procedure was incorrect. He apologised profusely for Ashwini's behaviour and phoned her to immediately give us the money. We went back and told her: till the 31st December, based on AC linkage, you will never ever refuse to honour a cheque presented by a consumer, in this branch. It is illegal and amounts to a criminal offence of theft. She was very angry, but had to give us the money. We told her that we have a strong consumer movement in Saligao and Goa and will not tolerate illegalities and arrogance from her. The rest is in the attachment...
