The Scorpio has placed Mahindras on the international map of limosine makers - firmly. And thats the story of a genuine role model. Allan started with Mahindra & Mahindra as a Management Trainee. By dint of hard work and sheer determination, rubbing shoulders with workers, supervisors and learning vital lessons on how they can be motivated, he blazed a journey of success that the comminity is proud of. Allan had his early experience with unhappy workers - the fear of the faint hearted - but he showed early in life what courage and a vision can accomplish. His charming wife Melanie stood by him from day one and both of them seemed married to M & M and a determined future. Allan's life in M & M was a lifelong learning and he became an engineer by training. There is no better way. He saw the future of tractors, met farmers and built a marketing team second to none. M & M under his guidance, became a market leader, a position the company enjoys even today. Allan's learning never ended. He took over the automotive sector, faced unbelievable problems, got the best out of his team of workers and changed the fortune of Mahindra. Encouraged by M & M's success and leading a dedicated team of workers, Allan went global amd M & M is firmly placed right up there with products like Commander, Bolero and the proud Scorpio. Allan is a role model for the youth of our community, many of whom are in the sunshine, because of him. He has shown that hard work and determination will result in the best. Friends who know him will tell you about his willingness to help people, and his support to causes like education, community welfare, and even health care in his home town Saligao. Newspapers will tell you how he brought the M & M football team from nowhere to the top of the national table. Allan Durante retired from M & M as their Executive Director and President with retiring perks that speak volumes for the respect love and appreciation of Mahindra and Mahindra. The Durante family story is an inspiration for every young couple, with the division of their success being 60:40. Who contributed 60 percent only close friends will know. I certainly do. I believe that marriages are what you make of them and careers are about trying to succeed and never giving up. Milton will excuse me if I misquote.
