A note from Giselle Lobo, who along with the SI team of volunteers, deserves all credit for making this happen! FN The Saligao Institute Children’s Library Very shortly the Saligao Institute Children’s Library (SICL) will be wearing a new look. This is thanks to the generosity of Gita Simoes who has single-handedly undertaken to renovated this corner of the institute and make it more exciting and child friendly for the children of Saligao in memory of her husband the late Frank Simoes. In addition to sponsoring renovations of the room (floor, walls and ceiling) Gita has been responsible for donating over 800 books to the library. Many thanks from all of us Gita!!! The library has a good reference section in addition to a ever growing fiction section. The ever popular Harry Potter books are just one of the many current favorites up for easy borrowing. As mentioned the grand reopening is slated for April 9 at 5:00 p.m. It is open to the public but we would specially like to invite the principals of the various schools so that they can then encourage the reading habit among their students.
