Your great landmark Family house....
at the Saligao 'Wall-tar'.... as in 'Turning Corner' in English !.......
The house of the great Senhor Deonisio and the Saligao Sports Star of
yesteryears 'Denis'........
Please be advised that the roof of your ancestral house 'Balcao' seems to
be in bad shape.
Could come crashing down any day.....then offcourse... the whole house
would follow.
And sadly a great landmark in Arrarim will dis-appear.
I was very pained to see, when I was down on vacation last in Dec 2005, the
large and magnificient house of 'Anton Vaz' in Muddavadi, almost down in
ruins. Francis the great Bridge Player last lived in it, now he is in
Bangalore I'm told.
NO more roof at all but the thick walls are still standing. I met Dr. Suri
there and he had brought in to the site some Canada based close relatives
from the house who were staring at the ruins in dis-belief and in actual
tears !!
Another Big and great looking house about to go down is that
Felisbert/Frida/Maria Mathias used to live in. bang on the
'Wall-tar' turning corner, in line of the houses of
Bendros-Delaneys-Albino the medical Rep. Virtually no more roof above only
the thick walls still standing ! What a sad sight to see.
Am just back from a short and private visit to Saligao which was
pre-scheduled..
