Some of you might know Suryakant (54), the son of the late mason
Sadashiv ('Sodhu'), of Donvaddo. For awhile, he was a motorcycle
pilot. In our school days, he was our tutor (at Roy and Joe Vaz's home
at Donvaddo) and gave us tutions in Hindi and Maths (I think). He was
a good tutor, kind and patient, and knowledgeable in his subject.
Besides Roy and Joe Vaz, the late Hugo Sequeira also came for tutions.Was sorry to hear of his death recently. He was the son of the late Sadashiv Ladu Sawant and Satyawati Sadashiv Savant. He was brother of the late Manohar/Mayawati, the late Janardhan (Dhana)/Pranjali, late Ramesh (Bank of India)/Ramita and late Nandalal. His sisters are Shoba and Jayati and the late Chatura. I'll remember Suryakant as a nice guy, with a smile on his face, and out of deference to the help he gave us in our younger days (as we struggled with Hindi), I would always wish him when we crossed on the road.
