Hi SaligaoNetters
Hope all are doing well in their respective niches.
Hiya Rico, great going! You convinced Patsy to make her posting/postings.
Marbrouk!
Hiya Patsy, glad that you decided to take Rico's advice. Dont bother about
the criticism, take it in your stride.....I for one, doubt there'll be any.
The Netters dont seem very interested in making any posting, so where would
the criticism come from. Oh! & none of us (with the exception of the
journalists & a few) are "writers". Looking forward to your postings.
Thought this Net was dead as a doornail, dead as a dodo (whichever!!!), glad
you will prove me wrong.
Ciao
Have a nice day, evening, night....
Regards
Annette

Hi Rico,
Your request that I post occasionally was greeted with
a somewhat knee-jerk kind of response - from a person
filled with trepidation at the thought of putting her
thoughts out there for the whole world (I mean the
World of Saligoanetters) to read, and possibly comment
on/criticize! However, that request/suggestion was
stored in that special part of my brain that stores
all such requests!! - and my original response of 'I
would if I could' has now evolved into 'I can and I
will'
The reason for this change of heart (and mind) is the
realization that you, in fact, provided me with an
opportunity to give back - in some small measure - to
a community that has given me much.(Goa, and Saligao,
in particular.)
Right now I am a bit tied up with supply teaching
during the day and shuttling Cathy back and forth
to/from her various after-school activities, most
evenings. However, what I hope to do is to start
putting my thoughts down, more coherently, on a few
topics/themes to start with, so I have something ready
to post at frequent intervals. Sitting at the
computer to do this is my biggest challenge right now,
but I hope to be able to get something ready to start
posting in Jan.
Rico, these are not meant to be literary masterpieces,
but more of a sharing from the heart - which I hope
will inspire/motivate/encourage mainly the youth of
the village who may be at a point in their life when
they need a little boost. In my career as teacher I
realize that this is often the greatest need of many
young people. (In fact, I am in the process of
putting together a Career Exploration workshop for
high school youth, here in Mississauga - and will be
more than willing to do something similar for our
youth on my next trip to Goa.)
A gentle reminder of my promise to post would be
appreciated in case you find me failing to keep my
commitment ;)
Sorry if I got a little carried away - didn't intend
to write such a long e-mail, but career counselling
and motivating youth really is my passion. (I have a
diploma in Career Counselling...went back to school
here, for a one year, full time program to train and
get certified.)
In case I forget to tell you later, please feel free
to edit anything I send as you see fit, before you
post it. In fact, having that assurance will probably
take away some of my fears (mainly that of criticism.
I'm not a professional writer, you know!)
My "project" is already creating a very good feeling
for me.
Regards,
Patsy
