21.11.2007 As per the Official Gazette notification date 18 October, 2007, the Outline Development Plans (ODPs) of Mapusa and Panaji have been kept open by the North Goa Planning and Development Authority, for the public for viewing and objections if any, till 15th December 2007. A copy of the ODP for Mapusa is displayed permanently at MMC and TCP office at Mapusa. To assist the people who need to understand the Outline Development Plans, the Goa Bachao Abhiyan (GBA ,which is a People's Movement) in association with the Mhapsa Municipal Council is holding a day long exhibition together with presentations and explanations on the ODPs on Wednesday, 05th December 2007, from 10.00 am to 7.00 pm, at the Mhapsa Municipal Council Hall, Mapusa. Some of the GBA members with knowledge of ODPs and planning will be holding repeat presentations at 11.00 a.m., 3.30 p.m.and 5.30 p.m. in order to make it convenient for the public to attend. These presentations will be held to explain the salient features of the ODP 2011 for Mapusa and the major changes that will take place, specially near the Court complex at Feira Alta, behind Government office Complex at Morod, behind Green Park hotel to HDFC Bank at Morod, near Police station, Ansabhatt, near Ganeshpuri and near the proposed Cricket stadium at the border of village Tivim. The GBA urges the concerned citizens, specially the MMC Councillors, architects, businessmen and parents of students and others who will be affected by the increased traffic congestion [specially near the Court-Altinho and Ximer-Khorlim] to make it a point to attend as it is only through awareness and knowledge that accountability can be demanded from the policy makers, planners and law enforcing agencies.
