Hi Yvonne,

I've just finished reading the most recent excerpt
from your book "Songs of the Survivors", and am
completely in awe of you and this major
accomplishment! It is not only a pleasure, but such a
privilege knowing you. Most of all, I think you
deserve mighty congratulations because of the tenacity
and perseverance you have shown in putting down all
your thoughts, feelings, emotions, and memories (both,
the happy and the sad,) in a journal/diary of sorts -
which is really what your book is. This is something
many of us only dream about and wish we can
accomplish, some day. But to actually get down to
doing it is a completely different story (literally
and metaphorically)!

Although I knew practically all the members of the
Vaz families - growing up in Saligao, I now know much
more about your and the "Vaz Clan's" life in Burma,
than I ever knew before. Your skill at recapturing
the joy of special times like Christmas, in such
amazing detail, is absolutely remarkable! The same
goes for everything else that you have recounted so
brilliantly.

Congratulations again!

Patsy
