The irony is that Tony D'Sa's birthplace, Kenya, tethers on the brink of civil war just as he reminisces so poetically. Africa was paradise for many but, on reflection, it was probably hell for the exploited indigenous population.
The fact that a local brew was their stairway to heaven says it all.
