did you specify a username/password for the check,
Can you list the services from the SA machine using SA?  and using the server mananger can you see the remote serviceS?

I have tried another service as you suggested but still getting the same error - 67. This time I have even used the IP address instead of the name of the server - but still no joy. See log/ping  below:
