But one thing that can be tricky is that at least on cisco ISDN backup interfaces are spoofed to be up.  You have to do some testing once you find the oid and figure out which oid value means it is connected and passing traffic.

 

Don't know anything about the Bay Networks stuff, but GETIF is a good tool to check oid values.

If it's SNMP enabled (the router) then it should be possible to check if the line is up or not.  (most SNMP enabled routers will have an OID for the status of a "line")

Is anyone using SA to check a backup link to a router? I have an ISDN backup link to a remote office that I will like to check to it's running when the main link goes down. I already have check for the main link.

 

I am using a Bay Networks AN Router at the remote office.
